July 23 1:00-2:00 Unearth a story – Paleontologist’s Lost Bones Escape Adventure!  Sponsored by the Wisconsin 4-H AmeriCorps Member serving in Marquette County.  This summer, young explorers will step into the shoes of junior paleontologists as they help solve a mystery left behind by a very forgetful scientist.  During this interactive escape-style program, children will follow a trail of rhyming clues hidden throughout the library, each one leading them to a new location and a new challenge to face.  Along the way, they’ll complete hands-on-puzzles, movement-based activities, and simple problem solving tasks.  As participants collect each hidden clue, they’ll also uncover “fossil fragment” that the paleontologist misplaced during their research.  When the last piece of the fossil fragment is found, the group will assemble them to reveal the full dinosaur skeleton – each piece representing one of the fossils the way.

July 28 1:00-2:00 arts, crafts, games, snacks

July 30 1:00-2:00 Native American tradition of the Three Sisters plantings - corn, beans, and squash planted together.  The corn grows tall and provides support for the vining beans.  The squash grows on the ground and provides shade for the roots of all the plants.  Evidence of this method was discovered via archeologic digs at ancient sites. This program will be sponsored by the Marquette Gardening Club.
